Following their decision to step down as senior working royals in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Montecito, California, where they now reside with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Royal author Tom Quinn suggests that while Prince Harry is considering a return to the UK, Meghan Markle is firm in her stance of never going back to the country.
This disagreement is cited as one of the primary sources of tension between the couple.
Despite Prince Harry’s desire for her presence for moral support, Meghan’s reluctance to visit the UK remains steadfast, as she expressed during previous instances.
She made brief visits to England in 2022 for the late Queen’s funeral and in 2023 to accompany Prince Harry to the Invictus Games in Germany.
