PM Shehbaz Sharif’s UAE Visit Aims to Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a significant day-long visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, aiming to strengthen trade and investment ties. He will hold crucial discussions with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on mutual interests.
Upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi, PM Shehbaz was warmly received by UAE Vice President and Chairman of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Also present were Pakistani Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi, and other officials from both nations.
This visit marks PM Shehbaz’s first trip to the UAE since taking office after the 2024 general elections. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During his visit, the prime minister will engage with other Emirati leaders, business figures, and heads of financial institutions, aiming to reinforce the deep-rooted, brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, which are based on shared religious and cultural values.
The visit, meticulously arranged by Pakistani envoy Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, underscores a commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation. The UAE Consul General in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi, recently highlighted the pivotal role Pakistanis play in Dubai’s development and assured preferential job opportunities for Pakistanis in various sectors. He encouraged vocational students to seize these opportunities and disregard negative social media content.
PM Shehbaz’s visit signifies a crucial step towards fostering robust economic and diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the UAE, promising mutual growth and prosperity.
