Nawaz Sharif Criticizes Imran Khan, Praises Government Efforts

Nawaz Sharif Criticizes Imran Khan’s Anger, Emphasizes Political Cooperation and Economic Improvement

Murree: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif stated on Saturday that he does not harbor malice, enmity, or a desire for revenge against others.

Without directly naming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif implied that Khan consistently behaved angrily.

He recalled a public rally where Khan disrespectfully remarked, “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, I will drag you here.”

Nawaz Sharif made these remarks during a meeting with PML-N parliamentary members in Murree.

Contrasting his approach, Nawaz mentioned his collaborative relationship with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the signing of the Charter of Democracy with former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

He criticized Khan’s administration for threatening to remove the air conditioning from his prison cell but emphasized that he does not engage in political vengeance.

Despite Khan now serving a prison sentence, Nawaz Sharif said he has never considered retaliation.

The government has repeatedly extended an olive branch to Khan, but he has consistently dismissed the offer, preferring to negotiate with the “real stakeholders.”

However, sources recently revealed that Khan has decided to soften his stance, directing PTI leaders to establish contacts both inside and outside Parliament to reduce political tensions.

According to these sources, PTI’s leadership plans to engage with various political parties outside Parliament while also improving relations with parties within the ruling coalition.

Khan’s decision followed his interaction with Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa during a Supreme Court hearing on June 6 regarding amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law.

CJP Isa suggested that Khan participate in Parliament to help resolve Pakistan’s issues, emphasizing the need for the country to progress.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the federal and Punjab governments in reducing the prices of essential commodities.

He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for their roles in this achievement and expressed confidence that Pakistan would soon overcome its crises.

Nawaz Sharif advocated for policies aimed at reducing electricity and gas prices, highlighting Maryam Nawaz’s significant contribution in preventing a rise in wheat prices.

He noted that overall inflation was decreasing, and the stock market was experiencing unprecedented growth.
