Dr. Zakir Naik Arrives in Karachi for Official 10-Day Visit

Meetings of Zakir Naik with Religious Scholars and Government Officials is Planned

Noted religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik has arrived in Karachi for a 10-day official visit, during which he will hold important meetings and address public events.

He was received by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab.

The Sindh Police’s Special Security Unit will provide security during his stay.

Dr. Naik is scheduled to meet top religious scholars of Pakistan, including Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, as well as senior bureaucrats and Sindh government officials.

Additionally, he will visit a key government institute on October 4 and address a public event at Bagh-e-Quaid on October 5.

Following his engagements in Karachi, Dr. Naik will travel to Lahore on October 11 and continue his Pakistan tour, which will last until October 28.

He is set to lead Friday prayers, hold public gatherings, and meet senior government officials in various cities, including Lahore and Islamabad.

Dr. Naik’s visit was announced through a social media post, confirming his trip along with his son, Shaikh Fariq Naik.

He has been residing in Malaysia since 2016 after leaving India, where he is wanted for alleged money laundering and incitement to extremism.

During his Pakistan visit, Dr. Naik has already had a brief meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.

Public rallies are scheduled in Karachi on October 5-6, in Lahore on October 12-13, and in Islamabad on October 19-20.
