Awais Munir Wins Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship
In Riyadh, Pakistan’s Awais Munir triumphed over Hong Kong’s Nansen Wan to claim the Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship title with a 6-3 victory.
The match was initially tied at 2-2 before Munir won three consecutive sets to lead 5-2.
Despite a comeback by Wan in the eighth frame, Munir secured the win in the ninth frame with scores of 0-65, 35-26, 27-36, 38-20, 0-65, 13-46, 8-60, 34-0, 27-40.
Earlier, Munir defeated Asjad Iqbal 5-2 in the semi-finals by winning five straight frames after trailing 0-2. In the Asian U21 Snooker Championship, Mohammad Hasnain beat defending champion Ahsan Ramzan 4-3 in the final.
Hasnain had an undefeated run in the tournament, including a 4-1 semi-final victory over Hong Kong’s Shawn Lee and a 4-3 win against India’s Ranveer Duggal in the quarters.
Ramzan also remained unbeaten until the final.
