King Charles Shares Health Update During Meeting with West Indies Cricket Team

King Charles recently hosted the West Indies Test cricket team at Buckingham Palace, ahead of their first Test match against England at Lord’s this week.

As the head of the Commonwealth, the monarch expressed his gratitude for being presented with a signed team shirt by the players.

However, he also provided a health update, indicating – while touching his back and grimacing – that he was too old to wear the shirt competitively.

The monarch referenced his longstanding back pain, which he attributed to numerous falls from horses over the years while playing polo.

Despite his health concerns, King Charles was in good spirits, joking about the framed shirt by saying, “Break glass in emergency” and adding, “I’m very touched. I don’t think I deserve this at all.”
